Abd-al-aziz Bin-Muhammad Abu-al-Naja, TV Channel 2 director, said
Channel 2 has started carrying a translation of the Friday sermons from the
Holy Mosque in Mecca. He said this has been carried out upon the
instructions of Information Minister Dr. Fu'ad Abd-al-Salam al-Farisi and
the supervision of Information Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Ali Bin-Muhammad
al-Naj'i.

Abu-al-Naja said this step aims at allowing non-Arab Muslim viewers all
over the world from following the Friday sermons from the Holy Mosque. He
said the ministry is keen on reaching and interacting with viewers
everywhere, particularly since Channel 2 is carried via satellite.

He added that Channel 2 will carry a full translation of both Friday
sermons on Sundays following the major newscast.

Saudi Shaykh Abd-al-Bari al-Thubayti calls on God to torture and destroy all
the Jews in sermon broadcast on Saudi Gov't TV

Riyadh Kingdom of Saudi Arabia TV2 in Arabic, official television station of
the Saudi Government, at 0930 GMT 7 June 2002 carries a 20-minute live
sermon[0] from the holy mosque in Medina.

Shaykh Abd-al-Bari al-Thubayti delivers the sermon[0]. He begins by praising
God, the messenger, and his companions, calling on Muslims to obey God as a
way to happiness in this life and in the Hereafter and to die as Muslims.
The imam devotes his sermon[0] to the subject of "leisure time," which, he
says, leads to bad habits, including drugs, if it is not filled with useful
activities.

In the second part of his sermon[0], the imam shows the best ways of filling
leisure time, such as reading, attending lectures, taking part in useful
social activities, and worshipping God, citing relevant Koranic verses.

Concluding, the imam prays to God: "O God, strengthen Islam and the Muslims,
humiliate infidelity and the infidels, destroy your enemies, the enemies of
religion, and grant safety to this country and to those of Muslims. O God,
protect Muslims in Palestine, Kashmir, Chechnya, and elsewhere." He goes on:
"O God, the Jews have transgressed all limits in their tyranny. O God, shake
the ground under their feet, pour torture on them, and destroy all of them."
