The Chief of the General Staff: We are doing everything we can to get the
kidnapped soldiers back home.

The Chief of the IDF General Staff, Lieutenant General Moshe Yaalon,
participated yesterday (7.10.02) in an assembly in Tiberias marking two
years since the kidnapping of the IDF soldiers on October 7th 2000. General
Yaalon said: "I cannot say when the soldiers will return. However, we are
doing everything we can that can possibly help, whether our methods are
public, concealed, direct or indirect. We are using international
connections. I promise you, the soldiers' families that we will continue
doing everything we consider useful.

On October 7th 2000, the Hizbullah kidnapped Staff Sergeant Omar Swa'ad,
Staff Sergeant Benny Abraham and Sergeant Adi Avitan in the Har-Dov sector.
