Abu Mazen's Fatah Tied To Foiled Attacks Wednesday & Thursday and Thursday
Murder

Aaron Lerner Date: 27 June 2003

Israel Radio Military Correspondent Carmela Menashe reported on the noon
news program that security officials also tie the two terrorists caught at
the Kalanit roadblock to Abu Mazen's Fatah Tanzim cell in Samaria. This is
the third terror incident in two days tied to Abu Mazen's Fatah.

A Border Police antiterrorist unit shot and killed the two terrorists
carrying backpacks containing powerful bombs near Hadera on Thursday before
the terrorists were able to carry out a double suicide bombing. Two
Palestinians believed to be their dispatchers were also captured by security
forces nearby and handed over to the ISS for questioning.

Earlier that day a terrorist murdered Bezeq technician Amos (Amit) Mantin,
31, in the center of Baka al-Gharbiya, near Hadera. Abu Mazen's Fatah
Tanzim Aksa Martyrs Brigades division took credit for the murder.

On Wednesday, a bomber and his helper also associated with Abu Mazen's Fatah
Tanzim were stopped in Kafr Kassam before they made their way to Petah Tikva
to carry out an attack. They also had considerable quantities of explosives.
