Would you like the former head of the ISS ("Shabak") Ami Ayalon, to go into

[IMRA: Ma'ariv gave Ayalon a two page spread. It is a common practice in
Israel for the media to join in "sponsoring" an undeclared candidate by
publishing polls on them and adding them to polls regarding candidates. Past
experience is that hypothetical candidates poll well as long as they are
hypothetical. When they announce and become serious threats to others the
situation changes radically. The same can be said for various fantasy
parties that have polled well over the years only to flounder when reality
sets in. Maariv correspondent Ben Caspit urges Sharon to realize the dream
"Sharon-Peres-Lapid big bang party" in an article in today's paper, citing a
poll that this fantasy party would get 50 of the 120 Knesset seats ]
