Jordanian Army Chief Visits China

Beijing, Sep. 6 (Petra-Jordan News Agency)--Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of
Staff, General Khaled Jamil Sarayreh arrived in China on a six-day visit in
response to an invitation by his Chinese counterpart Liang Gyuanglie.

General Sarayreh will hold official talks with chairman of the Chinese
chiefs of staff on developing military cooperation between Jordan and China
in the various fields as well as issues of common interest.

Sarayreh will also meet with senior officials from the Chinese People's
Liberation Army. He will also visit Shanghai and other
Chinese cities to look into the China's expertise in modernizing its army.

The army chief is also expected to visit a number of military units and
attend military drills and maneuvers.
