Poll: Preventive detention of extreme right 51.8%:39.6%, 42.4%:42.6% new
government

The following is IMRA's translation of results of a telephone poll of 507
adult Israelis (including Israeli Arabs) carried out by Shvakim Panorama for
Israel Radio's "Another Matter" program on 5 January 2005 that is presented
on the website of the radio station.

Are you for or against preventive detention already at this point of
activists from the "extreme right" who may use violence against IDF soldiers
at the time of the evacuation of communities in accordance with the
disengagement plan?
Total: For 51.8% Against 39.6% Other 8.6%
Likud voters: For 48.7% Against 43.4% Other 7.9%
Labor voters: For 61.5% Against 34.6% Other 3.8%

The head of the ISS (Shabak) said that radical settlers may open fire on IDF
soldiers during the evacuation. Do you agree?
