30 Qassam rockets and 61 mortar shells fired at the Zionist settlements

In response to the Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people in the
West Bank and the Gaza Strip , Al-Qassam Brigades declared firing more than
30 Qassam rockets and 61 mortar shells till this moment at 10:05 in the
morning of Tuesday , April 24, 2007.

These operations came after the occupation assault on the Gaza Strip, and
the continued targeting of innocent Palestinian civilians and their
installations in the West Bank. Ten Palestinians were martyred in different
attacks in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Hamas, which participated in the new Palestinian government , had agreed to
a ceasefire in November but had said it would respond to killings of
Palestinians. Abu Obiada , the pokesman of the Brigades , declared that the
occupation forces will face a hard response to the latest crimes. Also , Abu
Obiada declared yesterday , to the Qassam Website, that Al-Qassam Brigades
calls upon the Resistance factions to be ready in the new battle "
confrontation " with the occupation forces, after ten Palestinians were
killed by the occupation Forces troops in a 24-hour surge of violence over
the weekend.

The rockets were fired from central and south Gaza at the Zionist military
sites and settlements around the Gaza Strip.

Al-Qassam Brigades had committed to the ceasefire agreement but the
occupation forces did not commit to any agreement of ceasefire since the
last November in 2006.
