Iran-Turkey Trade Ties Exceed $8bln in 2007

TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iran's Agriculture Minister Mohammad Reza
Eskandari and Turkish Foreign Trade Minister Kursad Tuzmen discussed issues
of mutual interest in Ankara.

Tuzmen, who is Turkish side head of joint trade and economic cooperation
commission, said, "Recently we have witnessed an acceleration in Turkey-Iran
trade relations and our commercial exchange level which was $6.7 billion in
2006, is expected to rise to more than $8 billion in 2007."

The Iranian minister, for his part, informed Turkish minister that by
creating a strategic committee in Iran-Turkey agricultural cooperation 9
months ago, a good move in this concern started in agricultural ties between
the to countries.

Eskandari is in Turkey to attend the second meeting of the strategic
committee of Iran-Turkey agricultural cooperation. He added he has had very
constructive and useful negotiations with the Turkish side during his
two-day stay in Turkey.

He said, "We have reached a vast agreement and hope that by implementing the
agreements, the non-oil exchanges level increase noticeably."

Iran's acting ambassador to Ankara was also present at the meeting.
