SHARM AL-SHEIKH, July 15, 2009 (WAFA- PLO news agency)- President Mahmoud
Abbas said, today, that "we still have not touched any real response from
the Israeli Government, there are even some unsupportable Israeli demands
that we cannot accept, or skip the basics and final status issues, essential
to end the conflict."
In a speech he pronounced before the Non-Aligned Movement's 15th summit,
held in Sharm El-Sheikh, in which more than 118 countries are participating,
the President said that, "we are pro serious negotiations; we know that they
will be hard and complicated. We will need your support, yet, flexibility on
our side never means concession of our national principles. There will be no
solution without Jerusalem, Refugees and all final status issues."
About the Palestinian national dialogue, the President said, "we hope, by
the will of God, to reach an agreement that brings back unity to the
Palestinians in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and thus, get rid one of
Israel's pretexts to evade their commitments."
Regarding the Non-Alignment Movement, he stated that, "we think our Movement
needs developed mechanisms that enable it to contribute to solving these
differences, and developing the economic and cultural relations between the
member countries of this Movement, founded by our great leaders,
Abdul-Nasser, Nehru and Tito, since more than half a century."
The President thanked the Non-Alignment Movement for its support and
solidarity with the Palestinian Cause, which, he stated, "we are looking
forward to its continuation, until we are able to end the Israeli occupation
and establishing our independent state, with Jerusalem as its capital.
