agreement in which the Palestinians would receive an independent state,
which included Gaza and nearly all of the West Bank, using the 1967 green

Mahmoud Abbas says, "The issues are clear. It is true that we are entering
negotiations but we will not digress from our position on certain issues.
The borders must be those in place before 1967, including Gaza and the West
Bank, with a territorial link between them, and East Jerusalem as the
capital. We must have full control over airspace and territorial waters. And
settlers living on lands that are not theirs must leave. We will not agree
