TEHRAN (FNA)- Undersecretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council
(SNSC) Ali Baqeri, who is in Syria for an official visit, held a series of
talks with a number of the leaders of the Palestinian resistant groups.
Baqeri discussed the latest conditions of Palestinians' resistance against
the Zionist regime of Israel in separate meetings with Secretary-General of
the Islamic Jihad Movement Ramadan Abdullah Shalah and Head of the Popular
Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command Ahmed Jibril.
At the meetings, the Iranian top security official underlined the key role
of resistance in determining the future of the region.
"The ongoing circumstances (in the region) show that resistance will
determine the future of the Middle-East," Baqeri said in a meeting with
Ahmed Jibril.
Pointing to hegemonic powers' consecutive failures in Iraq, Afghanistan,
Lebanon and Palestine, the Iranian official said, "Stability and security in
the region will be realized only through the literature of resistance."
Jibril, for his part, expressed appreciation for Iran's support for
resistance in the region, particularly in Lebanon and Palestine.
Meanwhile, in a separate meeting with Ramadan Abdullah Shalah in the Syrian
capital, the two sides exchanged views on the latest developments in the
region, specially Palestine.
Late in November, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed
Ali Khamenei in a meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri stressed
the importance of resistance in defusing the plots hatched by the Zionist
regime to dominate the region.
"The Zionist regime, if able, will go through Beirut and even Tripoli to lay
a siege on Syria, and resistance is the only deterrent factor against
Israel's usurper regime," Ayatollah Khamenei said at the time.
Praising the Lebanese success in defeating the Zionist regime in the 33-day
war in 2006, he stressed, "Resistance is the only factor which enemies of
Lebanon cannot stand against, and it should, thus, be appreciated."
