Exchange between IMRA and MK Arieh Eldad on annexation

#1 Dear MK Eldad,

I see that you are participating in the upcoming conference "Regaining the
initiative - Applying Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria"

As you can see from the article below, PA PM Salam Fayyad accepts this
initiative - as long as those residing in Judea and Samaria can become
Israeli citizens with the right to vote.

I was hoping that you could explain in short note that I could share with
IMRA readers if your support for annexation of Judea and Samaria is:

(1) Limited to annexation of areas where there are Jewish communities.

(2) If annexation covers the entire area of Judea and Samaria, do you
support granting Israeli citizenship - including the right to vote - to
those residing in the annexed areas.

Thanks.

Best regards,
Aaron

Shalom Aaron,

I support annexation of the entire area of Judea and Samira to the state of
Israel. The Arab population that livers there should become residents of the
state of Israel and citizens of the Palestine state in Jordan.
I refer you to a whole article about these issues that I recently published.

Sincerely yours,

M.K Prof Arieh Eldad

#2 Dear M.K. Prof Arieh Eldad,

Thanks for the reply.

I will publish it - along with the url for the publication you attached
http://www.hatikva.org.il/landing_3_11_10/hoveret_hatikva_A5.pdf

I appreciate that you would prefer that the Arabs in Judea and Samaria have
the right to vote in some other geographic location.

At this juncture both those residing within Jordan and the Arabs in Judea
and Samaria - along apparently with most of the other international actors -
reject this option. Add to that that there are those who argue that such a
move could contribute to a destabilization of Jordan that does not serve
Israel's interests.

My question: In the absence of the "live in Judea and Samaria - vote in
Amman" option, if the choice was between a sovereign Palestinian state and
annexation with Israeli citizenship available for the Arabs in the annexed
Judea and Samaria, which option would you choose?

Best regards,
Aaron

Dear Aaron.

In absence of a possibility that the state of Israel continue to exist which
option do you choose:

a. Hamas state in Palestine
b. Iranian influence via Hezbollah in Palestine.
I mean: Do you underestimate the possibility that the people in Jordan.
Will act as the people in Libya, Egypt, Syria
Tunis: ie- will change the regime. and then at once-Jordan is Palestine.

Sincerely yours,

M.k Prof Arieh Eldad
