When dispersing riots, Israeli law enforcement heavily relies on several
non-lethal means. All of the non-lethal riot dispersal means are identical
to those used by other western countries such as the U.S., U.K., the
Netherlands and others.

Israeli soldiers go through courses and special training with these means.
Firearms are used only in extreme circumstances, when rioters pose a serious
threat to the lives of civilians and security personal.
Stun Grenade - Creating an extremely loud blast and emitting a flash of
light upon release, stun grenade are used to temporarily neutralize violent
rioters, without inflicting long-term damage. While heavily used throughout
the world, especially in America, the device is sparingly used by Israeli
security forces.
Tear Gas - Individuals use tear gas for self defense. U.S. and European law
enforcement consider it the ultimate solution for combative crowds. Israeli
security forces resort to it for crowd control. When released into the air,
the non-lethal liquid becomes an aerosol, which irritates mucous membranes,
without causing long-term damage.
Rubber Bullets - A non-lethal alternative to real bullets, the global
product is used by Americans and Europeans to disperse riots. Capable of
causing head injuries, rubber bullets fired from standard firearms are
routinely directed toward the legs.
"Skunk" - Designed and manufactured by the Israel Police, the machine sprays
high-pressured, non-lethal liquid into the air, covering long distances. The
intolerable smell disperses rioters, without inflicting long-term harm.
