DAMASCUS, (SANA)- Syria rejects the decisions taken by the Arab League (AL)
Council on the ministerial level regarding Syria which are outside the Arab
work plan and the Protocol signed with the AL, a Syrian official source said
on Monday.

The source added that Syria considers these decisions a violation of its
national sovereignty, a blatant interference in its internal affairs and a
flagrant violation of the objectives for which the AL was established and a
breach of Article VIII of its Charter.

"Syria condemns this decision, which came in the framework of the
conspiratorial scheme carried out against Syria, a scheme which has been
revealed to our people and the Arab world," the source said.

The source said "Instead of seeing the Ministerial Council shouldering its
responsibilities in halting the financing and arming of the armed terrorist
groups which kill the innocent Syrian civilians and attack the state's
facilities and infrastructures and stopping the misleading media campaigns
responsible for the bloodshed, we listened to provocative statements which
reflect their owners' connections with the schemes targeting the security of
our people through demanding foreign interference in Syria's affairs."

"Such a decision deliberately ignores the efforts Syria exerted to implement
the comprehensive reform program announced by President Bashar al-Assad in
the field of political pluralism to build the renewed Syria, first among
which is the new constitution that will be put to referendum soon and which
sets an example of modernity and a democratic pluralistic system," the
source said, adding that several of the Arab countries who lead the
aggressive campaign against Syria lack such reforms.

The source said this decision which contradicts the interests of our people
will not deter Syria from going ahead in its reform process to achieve the
security and stability of its people who proved during the crisis their
adherence to the national unity and rallied around the leadership of
President al-Assad.
