EL-ARISH, Egypt (Ma'an) -- Egyptian authorities have delayed fuel deliveries
to the Gaza Strip until Tuesday, Egyptian sources said.

Fuel donated by Qatar was scheduled to be pumped in limited quantities to
Gaza on Sunday, a Gaza official said this week.

Egyptian authorities told Ma'an's correspondent that the delivery will be
postponed until Tuesday, in order to put in place stricter security
procedures to transfer the fuel from Suez Port across the Sinai to the
Al-Auja crossing.

Around 450,000 liters of diesel donated by Qatar, to be transported in eight
tankers, will be delivered to Gaza, Egyptian sources added.

Delivery of Qatari fuel began in July, but was cut off after a border attack
on Egyptian officers on Aug. 5.
