President Peres to Leave on State Visit to Russia
Jerusalem, Sunday 4 November 2012

President Shimon Peres will travel to the Russian Federation and inaugurate,
alongside President Putin, the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center in Moscow

President Peres and President Putin will hold a working meeting at the
Kremlin and will discuss strengthening strategic relations between the two
countries

President Shimon Peres will, on Tuesday, 6 November 2012, leave on a state
visit to Russia as a guest of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and will
represent the State of Israel at the inauguration ceremony of the Jewish
Museum and Tolerance Center in Moscow. At the ceremony President Peres and
President Putin will deliver speeches in front of assembled guests and the
media.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the two presidents will meet in the
Kremlin with the aim of strengthening and expanding the strategic, security
and diplomatic relations between Israel and Russia.

As a special honor for President Peres, the Russian Academy of Science, the
highest government body for science and research, will bestow upon President
Peres an honorary professorship. The honor has been awarded to an exclusive
number of world leaders who have made an outstanding contribution to the
world. The award ceremony will take place during the president's visit and
he will deliver a speech for the occasion.

President Peres will use visit to Moscow as an opportunity for a meeting
with hundreds of members of the Jewish community in Russia at an event with
the leadership of the community, rabbis and youth.

Below is the timetable for the main events (all times are local in Russia,

Wednesday 7th November 2012

Honorary Professorship from the Russian Academy of Science

11:00 The Russian Academy of Science will award President Peres the title
of Honorary Professor, an award that has been given to an exclusive number
of world leaders for their contribution to the world. President Peres will
deliver a special speech to mark the occasion. (09:00 in Israel)

Salute to Israel Event with the Jewish Community

19:30 President Peres will deliver a speech to hundreds of members of the
Moscow Jewish community (17:30 in Israel)

Thursday 8th November 2012

President Putin and President Peres will open the Jewish Museum and
Tolerance Center

15:00 President Peres and President Putin will deliver joint statements at
the inauguration ceremony of the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center in
Moscow. The two will conduct a special tour through the exhibitions of the
museum (13:00 in Israel).

The event will be broadcast via a satellite code organized by Russian
Channel 2 and through a Live Stream code for internet broadcast (details to

Work Meeting and Statements at the Kremlin

16:00 President Peres and Russian President Putin will hold a working
meeting at the Kremlin. At the conclusion of the meeting the two will
deliver joint statements. The meeting will focus on strengthening the
strategic, security, diplomatic and economic relations between Israel and
Russia (14:00 in Israel). There will be a photo opportunity at the start of
the meeting
