Shaath Confirms No Retraction from UN Bid

RAMALLAH, November 26, 2012 (WAFA) - Fatah Commissioner of International
Relations Nabil Shaath Monday said the Palestinian Authority will not
retract from going to the United Nations General Assembly on November 29 to
win non-member state status.

He said in a meeting with members of the diplomatic corps in Palestine that
President Mahmoud Abbas is already on his way to New York, pointing out that
the Palestinians have the right to seek a non-member state status at the UN.

Shaath discussed the results of the Israeli war on Gaza. He stressed the
importance of the reconciliation to the Palestinian cause and people at this
time.

He said the reconciliation talks will start in Cairo when the Egyptian
President Muhammad Morsi is ready.

He said Abbas met with Hamas officials and discussed steps to prepare for
the reconciliation.
