PM: Jordan is preparing new camp for Syrian refugees

Amman, Nov. 26 (Petra)--Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Monday reviewed
with UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Valerie Amos and
UNHCR Representative in Jordan Andrew Harper, conditions of Syrian refugees
in the Kingdom.

Ensour hailed the historical and humanitarian role of the UN in providing
aid and basic services to refugees over the past decades, adding that the
Kingdom is proud of its humanitarian stance towards refugees in the country.

Jordan, he added, will continues its humanitarian role towards Syrian
refugees, noting that the influx of thousands of Syrians refugees into the
Kingdom place tremendous pressure on Jordan's limited resources.

Ensour said Jordan is currently preparing the second camp in the Mreijeb Al
Fhoud region, some 22km east of Zarqa, and providing it with infrastructure
to ensure decent life for the refugees.

The Un official hailed the Kingdom's role in hosting Syrian refugees,
highlighting the need to support the Kingdom to enable it to continue
services to the displaced Syrians.
