Shas campaign features anti-Russian ad

The Shas Party featured an advertisement against Russians in the first day
of television broadcasts of campaign propaganda.

The video shows a Sefardi groom under the wedding canopy with a Russian
bride who gets her conversion certificate via a fax.

The Shas campaign strategy: their target voters, Sefardim, don't
particularly like Russian immigrants (this goes beyond religious issues –
the Russian immigrants were the most successful immigration in Israel's
history, coming into the country with billions of dollars of worth of
training that enabled many of them to leapfrog the Sefardim) so trashing
the Russians may appeal to their voters.

For the rest of us: Why in the world was this disgusting ad approved when
so many ads with even mild criticism of Arab Israelis were barred from
broadcasting?
