The GCC has rebuffed an Iranian proposal to include the situation in Syria
and Bahrain among topics to be discussed at a meeting between Iran and Group
5+1, to be held this month.
"The GCC totally rejects the Iranian attempt, which clearly confirms Iranian
interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries and its continuous
attempts to disrupt security and stability in Arab countries," GCC
Secretary-General Abdul Latif Al-Zayani said yesterday.
Al-Zayani described the Iranian move as an attempt to meddle in the
countries rapport with the 5+1 delegation by mixing political matters and
also as an attempt to run away from the demands of the negotiations. “It is
also part of Iran’s continuous attempts to stall the negotiations and its
lack of seriousness to find a final solution that will allay regional and
international worries about Iran’s nuclear programs.”
Al-Zayani called on the 5+1 group to reject any provocative move by Iran,
the SPA reported.
