8893 Syrian refugees enter Jordan in 3 days

Amman, Feb. 17 (Petra) -- The number of Syrian refugees who have crossed
into the Kingdom in the past three days reached 8.893, according to a Jordan
Armed Forces official source.

The source added that children, women, elderly, wounded and special needs
persons were among the refugees.

The poor weather conditions at the border area required double efforts by
the armed forces personnel because of the landslides in crossing points, the
source said, adding that the border guards provided the refugees with
humanitarian aid, heating and first-aid for wounded.

They also provided the refugees with means of transportation in preparation
to transfer them to the Zaatari refugee camp in Mafraq.
