One of the conditions set by the Palestinian Authority to return to
negotiations with Israel is that Israel release all Palestinian terrorists
imprisoned before the Oslo Accords were signed in 1993.
Palestinian Media Watch documents that the PA as policy honors all prisoners
imprisoned for terror crimes against Israel. Recently, official PA TV chose
to glorify two such "pre-Oslo" terrorists, both of whom murdered innocent
Israeli civilians. The PA TV host of the program dedicated to prisoners Link
in a Chain stated that both murderers had brought "honor" and "pride" "to
all humanity."
Faraj Saleh Abdallah Al-Rimahi, who is serving a life sentence for beating
an 84 year-old Israeli to death with a hoe in 1992, was coined a "giant
hero" by the PA TV host. The host continued:
"Our hero, Faraj Al-Rimahi, is still writing the finest epics of endurance,
heroism and self-sacrifice..."
The PA TV host referred to Ibrahim Faiz Abu Ali, who is serving a life
sentence for murdering a 24 year-old Israeli taxi driver in 1992, as "the
hero prisoner." The editors of the program also chose to include words of
praise by the terrorist's mother:
"By Allah, he is good, good. Ibrahim is honorable and a man. He's never
harmed his Muslim brother, never harmed a neighbor, never harmed any
person..."
Similarly, District Governor of Hebron, Kamel Hamid, with a delegation from
the Ministry of Prisoners' Affairs, chose to honor several of these pre-Oslo
prisoners serving life sentences with a "shield of resolve" and "solidarity
visits" to their families:
"Hebron district, in cooperation with the Prisoners' Club, the Ministry of
Prisoners' Affairs and the Committee of Families of Prisoners, organized a
solidarity visit to the families of veteran prisoners in the Hebron
district... they are: Ziyad Mahmoud Ghanimat and Mustafa Ghanimat (both
serving a life sentence)... Najeh Muqbil (serving 38 years in prison)...
Muhammad Al-Tus (serving a life sentence)... Governor of the Hebron district
[Kamel Hamid] awarded the 'shield of resolve' to the families of the veteran
prisoners."
Recently, PMW documented how PA TV, which is controlled by Abbas' office,
likewise glorified 3 terrorist murderers who together are serving 166 life
sentences for murder of Israelis.
The following are excerpts from PA TV's edited programs glorifying pre-Oslo
terrorists:
PA TV narrator: "Our meeting today is with the hero prisoner Ibrahim Faiz
Abu Ali. The hero whose struggle brought honor to us and all of humanity."
Faiz Abu Ali's mother: "By Allah, he is good, good. Ibrahim is honorable and
a man. He's never harmed his Muslim brother, never harmed a neighbor, never
harmed any person..."
Faiz Abu Ali's father: "I'm pleased when people leave, prisoners and those
who are with him say "Ibrahim, Ibrahim," this makes me proud."
[PA TV (Fatah), June 6 and 8, 2013]
Ibrahim Faiz Abu Ali is serving a life sentence for murdering 24 year-old
taxi driver Roni Levy on Dec. 29, 1990.
PA TV narrator: "On July 4, 1992, the occupation's forces arrested him and
the military court sentenced him to life in prison. The sentence was unjust
for this giant hero, who brought pride to all humanity with his struggle.
Our hero, Faraj Al-Rimahi, is still writing the finest epics of endurance,
heroism and self-sacrifice..."
Al-Rimahi's wife: "Praise Allah, by Allah, we are proud of him everywhere.
We are proud of him. By Allah, he is a good man, praise Allah."
[PA TV (Fatah), May 11 and 12, 2013]
Faraj Saleh Abdallah Al-Rimahi - Fatah terrorist who beat 84 year-old
Avraham Kinstler to death with a hoe. He is serving one life sentence in

The following is an excerpt of the article in the official PA daily
describing how PA officials honored pre-Oslo terrorists:

Prisoners' Affairs and the Committee of Families of Prisoners, organized a
solidarity visit to the families of veteran prisoners in the Hebron
district... they are: Ziyad Mahmoud Ghanimat and Mustafa Ghanimat (both
serving a life sentence)... Najeh Muqbil (serving 38 years in prison)...
Muhammad Al-Tus (serving a life sentence)... Governor of the Hebron district
[Kamel Hamid] awarded the 'shield of resolve' to the families of the veteran
prisoners."
