Half the fans for Uruguay at Amman game Israelis

The Israelis: as soon as the identity of Jordan's playoff opponent was
known there was a buzz in the not so large but very loyal community of
expats from Uruguay in Israel...Some tour companies got organized, and
hundreds of Israeli-Uruguayans stormed the stadium seats reserved for
visitors. In fact, of the about 1,200 fans supporting Uruguay, more than
half came from Israel . In Uruguay itself they have been amazed for several
days over the Israeli fans , who were featured in stories in the media. "We
are Israeli patriots, but fans of Uruguay" was the repeated motto.
