Cabinet: Demarcation of Borders is Key to Successful Negotiations RAMALLAH, April 22, 2014 (WAFA) =96 The Palestinian Council of Ministers = stated Tuesday that the demarcation of the Palestinian-Israeli borders base= on 1976 borders is the key to successful negotiations with Israel in the = future. The council said in its weekly meeting held in Ramallah that Israel=92s = evasion to discuss this issue during the previous nine months rendered it = impossible to achieve any further progress, said the cabinet. The Israeli evasion to discuss this issue would also foil any future peace = efforts, which shows that the Israeli government is not serious regarding = carrying out genuine negotiations as it seeks to evade its commitments and = buy more time to consolidate its occupation of Palestinian territories and = complete the Judaization of Jerusalem, the cabinet added. The council stressed that the Palestinian state should be established on a = unified geographic and political basis between the West Bank and Gaza and = with East Jerusalem as its capital. Regarding the national reconciliation efforts, the council called upon the = different parties to =93give priority to the national interest,=94 hoping t= ongoing efforts could advance national unity. In a separate subject, the cabinet stressed the Palestinian Jordanian firm = relations and praised Jordan=92s unswerving support for the Palestinian = rights. It further stated that mutual agreements will be forged in the coming days = between Palestine and Jordan which will benefit the Jordanian and = Palestinian peoples. The council condemned the latest Israeli measures in Jerusalem and repeated = raids by settlers on al-Aqsa Mosque in addition to Israel=92s violations = against the Muslim and Christian holy sites.
