Not a parody: Herzog calls for withdrawals - but with iron clad security
guarantees

During the course of the panel discussion Israel TV Channel 2 News that
followed PM Netanyahu's UN General Assembly Address, when opposition leader
Isaac Herzog (Labor) repeated his challenge that PM Netanyahu must announce
his own peace initiative, Communications Minister Gilad Erdan challenged
Herzog to be explicit as to what he has in mind, noting that its was clear
that any area Israel withdraws from turns into a center for terrorist
activity.

Anchor Yonit Levi then turned to Herzog and repeated the observation that it
was indeed the case that when Israel withdraws from areas that they become
terror centers.

Herzog explained that while he wants Netanyahu to propose to withdrawal,
that the withdrawals would not be immediate and that the withdrawals be with
"iron clad guarantees".

Levi did not follow up with Herzog to ask him, given everything that has
transpired in the last year, why he thought that there is such a thing as
"iron clad guarantees".
