Foreign Ministry: Netanyahu’s Speech is to Justify Settlement, Occupation

RAMALLAH, September 30, 2014 (WAFA - PLO news agency) – Ministry of Foreign
Affairs said, in a statement on Tuesday, the recent speech delivered by
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu was an unsuccessful attempt to justify the
Israeli Government’s commitment to settlement construction and denial of a
two-state solution.

“Netanyahu completely failed when he lashed out with a flood of false
accusations against President Mahmoud Abbas,” said the statement adding:
“Everyone, including those who were listening to him, realize that President
Abbas was the one who initiated an end for the aggression [on Gaza] … Abbas
exerted all efforts to insure providing protection to the civilians during
that barbarian war, while Netanyahu was giving orders to his soldiers to
continue the destruction and killing innocent Palestinian civilians.”

The ministry added that the job of the International Criminal Court is to
reveal the false claims of Netanyahu.

It said Israel takes advantage of the Jewish suffering during the Holocaust
to justify its modern crimes against the Palestinian people, such as the
crimes it perpetrated during the recent aggression on Gaza.

It dismissed Netanyahu’s claims that the Israeli army is the most moral in
the world, providing evidence that it killed more than 2230 Palestinians in
Gaza, most of whom children and women, and destroyed 50 thousand houses,
away from the targeting of schools and water and power networks.
