PM Netanyahu Holds Additional Consultation Regarding Ebola Readiness

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this evening (Thursday, 16 October 2014),
held an additional consultation to evaluate state agencies' readiness
regarding the global spread of Ebola.

Health Minister Yael German, Health Ministry Director General Prof. Arnon
Afek, and Ben-Gurion International Airport Director Shmuel Zakai also
participated in the consultation.

They were briefed on tomorrow morning's exercise at BGI Airport in which the
arrival of a passenger with Ebola will be simulated.

The exercise will include initial questioning as well as evacuation and
hospital treatment.

Prime Minister Netanyahu instructed that preparations be increased at all
entry points into Israel including preventive measures such as taking the
temperature of passengers arriving from areas in which there is concern over
the spread of Ebola.
