Money highlights Abbas-Dahlan conflict

GAZA CITY (Alresalah.ps) -- Money is the most powerful means, which
highlights the conflict between the PA President Mahmoud Abbas and the
dismissed Fatah leader Mohammed Dahlan, since both try to use all means
owned to overcome the other in the war raging between them.

Abbas, owning the decision to dispose money of the PA, decided to cut the
salaries of over 200 employees, who are close to Dahlan -- a move which is
not based on any legal justification and in an implementation of previous
threats vowed by Abbas.

Abbas got used to extort all those who oppose him several times. However,
Dahlan may take advantage of this to gain the loyalty of more Fatah members,
especially if Dahlan provides them with financial alternatives.

Dahlan supporters sent about 2000 message threatening the Fatah leaders in
the Gaza Strip, according to Mamoun Swidan, Director of International
Relations in Fatah, said in a press release on Sunday.

According to Swidan, the messages carried threats to the leaders of the
movement to dissuade them from being committed to the decisions of the
leaders of Fatah and President Abbas.

Fatah Revolutionary Council said in a statement that "attacks" on the
leaders of Fatah and the institutions of the movement in the Gaza Strip has
"escalated unprecedentedly."

Unknown people attacked the leaders of Fatah during a special meeting for
the doctors, who follow the movement in Gaza City Saturday.

Observers believe that the PA will cut off the salaries of more employees to
test the reaction of Gazans.

The above-mentioned information was confirmed by a senior leader of the PA.

Abbas uses issues related to administrative, financial and moral corruption
to blackmail officials and senior leaders of the PA security apparatuses.

Observers believe that dispute will grow bigger inside Fatah, as Abbas deems
his conflict with Dahlan as a complement to the division between Gaza and
the occupied West Bank.
