Jerusalem 5.4 20:45 SHURAT HADIN DIRECTOR NITSANA DARSHAN-LEITNER TO SPEAK CONCERNING THE ESCALATING PALESTINIAN THREAT OF WAR CRIMES PROSECUTIONS

For Immediate Release March 30, 2015

SHURAT HADIN DIRECTOR NITSANA DARSHAN-LEITNER TO SPEAK CONCERNING
THE ESCALATING PALESTINIAN THREAT OF WAR CRIMES PROSECUTIONS

On Sunday evening (chol hamoed) April 5, 2015 at 8:45pm attorney Nitsana
Darshan-Leitner will speak in the Hachel Shlomo Auditorium at 58 King
George Street in Jerusalem. Darshan-Leitner will address the escalating
crisis being perpetrated by the Palestinians as they seek to have Israeli
officials and IDF officers prosecuted in the international tribunals
including the International Criminal Court (ICC). Unable to achieve their
extremist goals through direct negotiations the Palestinians are now
endeavoring to have the conflict with Israel resolved by the United Nations
and other prejudiced international bodies.

In December, the Palestinian Authority signed the Rome Treaty and their
membership in the ICC will be activated on April 1st. After this they can
move to have Israelis indicted.

Palestinian membership in the ICC is a game changer and the threat of war
crimes indictments cannot be ignored. Israel would have no means of
preventing nor answering these war crime charges in a biased tribunal like
the ICC. IDF soldiers would be unable to travel abroad and it would deter
recruits from joining combat units, which could devastate the armed forces.
Arrest warrants will also be issued against Israeli officials, creating a
diplomatic disaster. If indicted, Israel will be put under sanctions and
international isolation. Troublesome too, in a few weeks the United Nations
Human Rights Commission will release its report on the this past summer's
Gaza War and will no doubt result in charging the IDF with war crimes. The
report will ultimately be referred to the Security Council where Israel will
need to rely on the United States to veto any negative resolution.

Shurat HaDin has already begun a campaign to fight back against the
Palestinian efforts to bring IDF officers before the ICC. Darshan-Leitner
will discuss the need for Israel and the world Jewish community to go on the
offensive against the Palestinians' efforts rather than allow them to
continue to call the shots.

According to Darshan-Leitner: “Abbas and his colleagues in the Hamas
terrorist organization believe that the ICC is a weapon to be used against
Israel, and that the crimes of Palestinian leaders against their own people
and terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians will go unpunished. All PLO
and Hamas officials need to understand that the ICC is a two edged sword and
their years of murder, terrorism and hate will now be brought before the
prosecutors for investigation. We need to continue to file our own war
crimes complaints against Fatah, Islamic Jihad and Hamas and against
Palestinian leaders. Really, the world Jewish community needs to be a lot
more creative and determined in utilizing jurisdictions all over the globe
to go after the Palestinians."
