Gulf of Aden, May 20, IRNA – An informed source said in Tehran, on Wednesday
that Iranian ship Nejat carrying aid to Yemeni people, has possibly changed
its route and will first head for the Djibouti port following Saudi
government's procrastination.

The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told IRNA on Wednesday that
most probably, the ship will head for Djibouti port first and then after
necessary inspections by the ICRC personnel go to Al-Hodeidah port of Yemen,
which is her final destination.

He added, 'We are presently waiting for permission from Djibouti to berth at
the country's territorial waters.'

The Iranian ship is now sailing through waters off Aden port waters and
southern coastlines of Yemen towards Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea.

The Iranian ship, carrying emergency supplies to Yemen following
coordination with the United Nations humanitarian and emergency aid agency,
entered the Gulf of Aden on May 18 .

The ship is being escorted by the 34th fleet of the Iranian Navy in the
international waters.

One of Iranian naval warships deployed in the Gulf of Aden in a radio
contact declared its presence in the region.

Iranian aid ship is carrying 2,500 tons of humanitarian emergency supplies
to war-torn Yemen.

The ship was scheduled to arrive in the western Yemeni port city of Hudaydah
on May 21.

It set sail from Iran’s southern port city of Bandar Abbas on May 11.

International activists, volunteer doctors and media persons are on board
the ship.

Riyadh has blocked earlier Iranian aid deliveries to Yemen. Last month, it
prevented two Iranian civilian planes from delivering medical aid and food
supplies to the Muslim people of Yemen.

Saudi Arabia has launched military aggressions on Yemen since March 26 -
without a UN mandate - in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement,
which currently controls the capital, Sana’a, and major provinces, and to
restore power to Yemen’s fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi,
a staunch ally of Riyadh.

Iran called on the International Criminal Court to bring to justice the
Saudi leaders for the bloodshed and crimes against humanity they perpetrated
in Yemen.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called on
the Saudi leaders to stop the heinous crimes against the Muslim people of
Yemen in the holy month of Rajab, when Muslims must avoid conflict and
bloodshed.

President Hassan Rouhani rebuked the Saudi government for the bloodshed they
perpetrated in Yemen and said that the Islamic Republic of Iran will emply
every diplomatic channel to single out the disgrace the Saudi government is
subject to by targeting the innocent Muslim people in Yemen

UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen Johannes Van der Klaauw said on Friday
that over 1,600 people have been killed and more than 6,200 injured in Yemen
since conflict intensified there in late March.

He added that some 450,000 people have been displaced in Yemen by the Saudi
air strikes.
