PARIS, May 29 (MNA) – An informed source in embassy of Iran in France
strongly rejected the claim made by Reuters on Iran's nuclear and missile
cooperation with North Korea.
An Iranian official in Iran’s embassy in Paris dismissed the claim by
Reuters which is based on claims made by "notorious MKO terrorist group."
The informed source has told IRNA “it is noteworthy why Reuters report comes
just ahead of Iran and the 5+1 talks to finalize a possible nuclear deal.”
The source called it “quite predictable that approaching the self-imposed
deadline for reaching a final nulear deal, such false and baseless reports
would try ruin a win-win deal on Iran's peaceful nuclear program.”
Reuters report is based on claims by an Iranian expatriate terrorist group
called Mojahedin Khalq Organization (MKO, aka MEK) who has carried out
several assassinations inside Iran during post-revolutionary years. The
group received western attention after raising false claims against Iran's
nuclear program in 2002 which made controversy over Iran's nuclear peaceful
energy; the report was further proved to be false after IAEA approved that
Iran had not deviated from NPT. The peaceful nature of Iranian nuclear
program was also approved in American intelliegence reports.
Regarding the recent report which Reuters has highlighted that it “could not
independently verify the allegations,” the US State Department Spokesman
Jeff Rathke has also said "we have not been able to verify them thus far."
