During the weekend, tens of Thousands of people have travelled a hundred
kilometers south of Warsaw to the city of Radom, to take part in an aerial
expo. 20 air forces from all across Europe have presents their best of
aircraft and so did the Israeli Air Force which presented the C-130J
"Karnaf" heavy transport airplane, together with a team from the elite 669
SAR (Search & Rescue) unit.

Among the participating air forces are the Polish, Italian, Belgian, French
and Jordanian Air Forces. The sky and ground were ornamented by a large
variety of aircraft, from MiG-21s and MiG-29s to F-16s, transport airplanes
and helicopters.

While the aerobatic teams of Italy, Spain and Switzerland cut through the
skies of Radom, it was the Israeli C-130 "Karnaf" which caught most of
attention. The long queue to the inside of the plane has extended far beyond
the borders of the Israeli exhibition, which included a field operating room
of unit 669. "Our exhibition focuses on the many humanitarian operations the
IAF has led", said Lt. Col. Amikam, commander of the "Yellow Bird" squadron
and commander of the delegation. "The C-130 'Karnaf' has taken part in many
aid missions around the globe and the 669 unit is one of the most advanced
in the world in the field of SAR. We came here to present Israel as it
really is".

A Deeper Significance
The "Radom Air Show 2015" assembles many aviation enthusiasts from around
the world, who come to watch the spectacular air shows, versatile ground
exhibitions and cutting edge developments. But the Air Show has a deeper
significance for the IAF.

"An Israeli airplane landing on the ground of Poland 70 years after WWII is
a very exciting sight for us as people, as for our nation", said Colonel G,
the military attaché to Poland and an IAF pilot. "The strategic relations
between Israel and Poland is of utmost importance and are based on the
connection of the countries' armies".
