Hizbullah Uses Iranian advanced anti-tank guided missiles

Hizb Uses Iranian ATGM In Syria
NICOSIA [MENL] -- Iran has supplied advanced anti-tank guided missiles to
Hizbullah for the war in Syria.
The Teheran regime has been supplying Hizbullah the Toophan ATGM for
ground operations in Syria. Iran's state-owned Abna News Agency said
Toophan, with a range of 3.8 kilometers, was meant to destroy Sunni rebel
strongholds.
"The missile itself easily destroy tanks and is very accurate," Abna
said. "Toophan is also equipped with a camera for precision targeting and
ensures a significant impact."
Abna said the 76 mm missile, manufactured by the Iranian Aerospace
Industries Organization, was supplied to Hizbullah units in Lebanon. The
news agency did not say where the missile was being operated in Syria.
Western analysts said Toophan, designed to penetrate 550 mm of steel
armor, marked a variant of the U.S.-origin BGM-71 TOW missile. They said
Toophan, expected to undergo an Iranian upgrade, was being deployed by
Hizbullah near the borders of Israel and Syria.
"Hizbullah terrorists are using Iranian-made anti-tank missiles in Syria
that could be used against Israel in a future confrontation," the
Washington-based Investigative Project on Terrorism said.
