Turkmenistan FM Meredov visits Israel
The minister held a friendly conversation with PM Netanyahu in which they
agreed on deepening and expanding bilateral relations in the political and
economic spheres.

Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov came to Israel for a three
day working visit, which began on Sunday, May 29 2016). This is the first
visit of a Turkmen foreign minister for nearly twenty years. Turkmenistan is
a secular state with a predominantly Muslim population that has maintained
friendly relations with Israel since the establishment of diplomatic
relations in 1993.
During his visit to Israel, the minister held a friendly conversation with
the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Benjamin Netanyahu in
which they agreed on deepening and expanding bilateral relations in the
political and economic spheres.
The visitor also met with Minister Zeev Elkin and Foreign Ministry Director
General Dr. Dore Gold and visited Yad Vashem – The World Holocaust
Remembrance Center.
