ISA Arrests Terrorist Responsible for 10 May Bomb Attack Near Hizme in Which
an IDF Officer was Severely Wounded
(Communicated by the ISA)

The following has been cleared for publication:

The ISA, assisted by the IDF, has arrested the terrorist who carried out a
bomb attack near Hizme on 10 May 2016 (eve of Remembrance Day for the Fallen
of Israel's Wars), in which an IDF officer was severely wounded.

The ISA investigation revealed that the terrorist had prepared additional
explosive devices and planned to commit an additional attack in the Maaleh
Adumim area. One device had been fitted with a cellphone; the devices were
stored in his clinic in Kfar Akab.

The following individuals have been detained:

* Dr. Samer Mahmoud Daoud Alhaliba, born in 1980, a resident of Abu Dis, a
dentist; he placed and operated the explosive device (by means of a
cellphone).

* Dr. Dagana Fayiz Jamil Navahan, born in 1980, a resident of the Kalandia
refugee camp, a dentist, for aiding and abetting.

* Mahmoud Daoud Shehada Alhaliba, born in 1952, a resident of Abu Dis, a
hospital nurse, the father of the terrorist, for hiding evidence in his
son's clinic.

* Dr. Daoud Shehada Mahmoud Alhaliba, born in 1974, a resident of Abu Dis, a
dentist, brother of the terrorist, for removing the explosive devices in the
terrorist's clinic.

* Shadi Muhammad Ahmed Mohsen, born in 1984, a resident of Abu Dis, cousin
of the terrorist, for removing the explosive devices in the terrorist's
clinic.

The investigation revealed that the terrorist, Dr. Samer Alhaliba, began to
plan the attacks in February 2016 in response – in his words – for "the
desecration of Al Aqsa and Israeli attacks on Palestinian children."

Fifty-six small pipe bombs (in various stages of assembly), two firebombs
and a large u-shaped pipe bomb were seized. All were evaluated by experts as
having deadly potential.
