MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia’s S-400 air defense systems are operating in Syria
faultlessly, leading to an increased interest from Middle Eastern countries,
according to Sergei Kornev, the head of Rosoboronexport’s Air Force Special
Equipment and Service Export Department.

"The arms market of the Middle East is extremely important for us. The
countries of the region traditionally equip their armies with the most
modern types of weapons and military equipment. It is no secret that they
are paying great attention to the Russian air defense means, including the
S-400 systems, which are operating impeccably in neighboring Syria."

The S-400 Triumph is Russia's next-generation mobile surface-to-air missile
system carrying three different types of missiles capable of destroying
aerial targets at a short-to-extremely-long range. The system integrates a
multi-functional radar, autonomous detection and targeting systems,
anti-aircraft missile systems, launchers, and a command and control center.

According to the recent report from the Russian Air Defense Forces General
Staff, the country's strategic nuclear forces are currently capable of
inflicting unacceptable damage upon any aggressor, including those
possessing anti-missile weapons
