Egyptian Ambassador to Israel: Smuggling not problem as enough weapons in
Gaza as it is

Egypt's Ambassador to Israel, Mohamed Assem, assured Israelis in an
interview broadcast on Israel Radio's noon news magazine that they should
not be concerned about the smuggling of weapons from Egypt to Gaza since
"there are enough weapons in Gaza as it is".

Assem declared that "law and order will be maintained" and that the movement
between Egypt and Gaza would be limited to official border crossings within
a short time.

The border between Gaza and Egypt remains open for unchecked smuggling for a
third day.
