Weekly Commentary: Too High A Price Just "Lesaper Lachevra"

Today we have direct security ties with our Arab neighbors to coordinate
activities in pursuit of common goals.

Today we engage in considerable commerce with our Arab neighbors under cover
of Palestinian and other third parties.

What's really missing?

The opportunity to personally brag about it.

"Lesaper lachevra".

Tell the pals.

And that's what a "deal" with the Palestinians would ostensibly make
possible.

It wouldn't facilitate security relations with our Arab neighbors because we
already have them. It would just make it more public.

It wouldn't launch Israeli commerce in the Arab world because we are already
there. Again - it would make it more public.

Now I can appreciate the frustration of Israelis who are involved with the
Arab world and can't share selfies on Facebook broadcasting their
achievements to their pals.

But that's hardly enough to justify the profoundly serious and dangerous
concessions the Jewish State would have to make for a "deal" so that they
can lesaper lachevra.
