State Department to IMRA: Births in Jerusalem Still Not Recognized As Births

IMRA asked the State Department: In the wake of President Trump's
announcement today recognizing the Jerusalem is Israel's capital I have the
following question: Will the US passports of American citizens born in
Jerusalem have "Israel" recorded as their "place of birth"?

A Department of State official on background responded: At this time, there
are no changes to our current practices regarding place of birth on Consular
Reports of Birth Abroad and U.S. Passports.
