The following is IMRA's translation of results of a telephone poll carried
out by "Brain Base" ["Maagar Mochot"] of a representative sample of 4481
adult Israelis (including Israeli Arabs) 401 Likud members and 308 Likud
Central Committee members for Israel Radio's "Another Matter" program on 24
August 2005.

If there were direct elections for the prime minister as per the previous
system how would you vote:

Total: Sharon 32% Netanyahu 22% Peres 28% Other 18%
Likud voters: Sharon 35% Netanyahu 39% Peres 3% Other 23%
Shinui voters: Sharon 40% Netanyahu 10% Peres 31% Other 19%
Labor voters: Sharon 38% Netanyahu 7% Peres 48% Other 7%
NRP/Nat'l Union voters: Sharon 16% Netanyahu 38% Peres 2% Other 44%

Candidates limited to:

There are members of the Likud who want to have a meeting of the Likud
Central Committee soon in order to set an early date for the primaries to
elect a chairman and candidate for prime minister. Are you for or against
holding a meeting of the Central Committee for this purpose?
