PM Netanyahu has not yet finalized how applying sovereignty to Jordan Valley and northern Dead Sea

PM Netanyahu has not yet finalized how applying sovereignty to Jordan Valley
and northern Dead Sea
Dr. Aaron Lerner 15 September, 2019

While PM Netanyahu said in an interview published in the Friday 13 September
edition of Makor Rishon that two weeks ago he had intended to bring to the
Knesset legislation applying sovereignty to Jordan Valley and northern Dead
Sea, Mr. Netanyahu indicated today that he was not yet sure how he was going
to go about applying sovereignty to Jordan Valley and northern Dead Sea.

"Today I have appointed a working team led by the director general of my
ministry, Ronen Peretz, to formulate an outline for applying the sovereignty
to the Jordan Valley and the northern Dead Sea."

It should be noted that last week Mr. Netanyahu appeared at what was billed
to be a "dramatic announcement" in which he showed a detailed map for
applying the sovereignty to the Jordan Valley and the northern Dead Sea.

A simple vote by the cabinet to approve applying the sovereignty to the
Jordan Valley and the northern Dead Sea in accordance with the map would
suffice.

Alternatively, PM Netanyahu could opt to submit the law he apparently had
ready two weeks ago.

It thus remains unclear, given that a map already exists, what task remains
for the working team led by the director general, Ronen Peretz, to formulate
an outline for applying the sovereignty to the Jordan Valley and the
northern Dead Sea.

Are they to decide between a Cabinet decision and Knesset legislation?
