Dear Brig. Gen. (res.) Udi Dekel,

You write in “The Day After” Hamas’s Rule in Gaza: Time to Sober Up From the Illusions" that ”The PA should …cease the transfer of financial support to families of terrorists and imprisoned Palestinians.”

Is there any Palestinian leader alive today who has indicated either on or off the record that they would or could support such a move?

And if there isn’t, how does this impact the recommendation?

Best regards,
Dr.Aaron Lerner - IMRA

Shalom Aaron
Instead of saying an absolute no to the PA, Israel should set the conditions I mentioned. All the years we did not stand by our principles led to Palestinian extremism. If the PA refuses, it will make it clear (perhaps also to the Americans) that it is not a relevant actor
