IMRA asks Ayelet Grill, Spokesperson for Mitvim - The Israeli Institute for
Regional Foreign Policies about "The Israeli Initiative - A New Political
Plan"
Dr. Aaron Lerner 18 March 2024
The Israeli Initiative published in Hebrew "A New Political Plan from the
Mitvim Institute and the Berl Katznelson Foundation"
The plan provides for the establishment of a "demilitarized" independent
Palestinian state after international conferences and other steps with
elections in Israel to change the leadership so that it would promote the
program.
The New Israel Fund provided finance for the publication.
Many of the Israeli experts involved in the project played key rules in the
Israeli Government during the course of negotiations and implementation of
The Oslo Accords.

Hello,
I would be happy to understand what you would like to focus on and how I can
help.
The Israeli Initiative is quite broad, so please specify which issues you
would like to address.
Thank you,
Ayelet

Hello,
Attached to "Haaretz" from Friday is the plan.
If I understand correctly, there are papers with more detail.
I wanted to understand if this concerns a sovereign Palestinian state.
I would like to receive the details of the solution your experts proposed
for the challenge of a sovereign state remaining sovereign even if it
blatantly violates the agreements it signed as part of the process of
becoming a sovereign state.
I was interested in the analysis of the "Red Team" that your experts
conducted regarding the strategies that Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, and their
allies worldwide will implement to exploit sovereignty.
And of course, which mechanisms your team of experts developed to ensure we
do not repeat the many times the United States refused to honor its
commitments to Israel, including 1. In 1967 when the Straits of Tiran were
blocked, and the USA refused to honor the commitment it made in exchange for
the withdrawal from Sinai. 2. The Rogers ceasefire plan that was
immediately violated by Egypt - the improper relocation of the SAM on the
day of the agreement allowed the Yom Kippur War.
Best regards,
Dr. Aaron Lerner
