"O God destroy the Jews..the crusaders and some so-called Muslims" Qatari
Friday sermon 23 August 2002

[FBIS (US Government service) Report]

Doha Qatar Television Service in Arabic, official television station of
the State of Qatar, on 23 August 2002 at 0847 GMT carries a 58-minute live
sermon from Umar Bin-al-Khattab Mosque in Doha.

Shaykh Anwar al-Badawi delivers the sermon....

In the second part of the sermon, the imam regrets the fact that the
Islamic nation punishes fedayeen by restricting their freedom of action. He
says: "The proposed reform for the PA is aimed at establishing cadres
capable of restricting and even killing resistance. We regret the fact
that some Islamic countries have agreed to train these cadres to protect
Israel's security, to control the resistance, to arrest the resistance men,
and to liquidate the resistance."
...
Concluding, the imam prays to God: "O God, help us and protect us
from our enemies. O God, protect us from the evils of our brothers,
friends, and enemies. O God, protect us and save us from the conspiracies
of the friends, brothers, and enemies. O God, support us, do not turn
against us, and help us score victory." He goes on: "O God destroy the
Jews and their supporters, including the crusaders and some so-called
Muslims. O God, use your power against them. O God, save the region
and the peoples from them." He also asks God to give success to the
Qatari amir.
