Hamas children's newspaper continues to educate based on virtues of suicide
attacks
IDF Spokesperson 22 December 2002
The Hamas movement's children's newspaper - Alfatah (the conqueror) -
continues to encourage Palestinian children in its fourth edition, to view
suicide attacks as a value one has to strive for in the framework of the
holy war against the infidels (Jihad).
The newspaper's fourth edition publishes the last will and testament of
Ismail Abed Al-Rahman, who was killed (March 16, 2002) while laying a
explosive charge near the Jewish settlement of Netzarim in the Gaza Strip.
Rahman's last will and testament, indicating his intention to carry out a
suicide attack, is presented to children as something to admire and emulate.
Herewith are excerpts of the last will and testament quoted in the
newspaper:
"...My family and dear fiends ...I have achieved my wish and have attained
death according to Allah's path, in the hopes of following in the steps of
the Jihad warriors, and stemming from the belief in Allah's certain
victory…I have partaken the journey away from this world which has an end
and I hasten to the eternal place in heaven above where life is pleasant.
...Oh my dear mother ...do not grieve for me, be happy ...I will marry [72]
girls in heaven ...I ask you, once you've heard that I have fallen in the
name of Allah, praise and thank Allah and distribute candy and drink to
glorify my soul ...I ask you ...do not cry for me but utters sounds of joy
as this is your son's wedding day [according to Islamic faith - anyone
killed in Jihad is allowed entry into Heaven and is allowed to marry 72
virgins of Heaven].
...As for you my brothers and sisters ...do not accept condolences on my
wedding day but rather accept blessings as if on your own wedding day and
educate your children to go to the mosque, to participate in Koran lessons
and teach them to love Allah and his prophet [Muhammad] and to love the
Jihad and the Istashad [death for Allah in the war against the infidels].
Your brother who loves the shahid [martyr] lives with the aid of Allah
Ismail Abed Alrahamn Hamdan Abu Albara".
