Shabak Director Dichter: Prisoner Release Does Not Help Abu Mazen

Israel Radio reported this morning that Shabak (ISS) director Avi Dichter
told the ministerial committee on Palestinian prisoners at their Sunday
meeting that he objects to the proposal to broaden the criteria for prisoner
releases, noting that the prisoner releases does not help PA PM Abu Mazen
fight terror. Dichter warned the committee that the PA isn't doing anything
to fight terror in any case. Dichter also reported that one of eight
Palestinians released in the past carried out terror activity after they
were released.

The list of Palestinians to be released will appear on the Prison Service
website www.ips.gov.il .
