Poll: 63.9% Ariel Should Be Within Security Fence

The following is IMRA's translation of results of a telephone poll of a
representative national sample of 504 adult Israelis (including Israeli
Arabs) carried out by Shvakim Panorama for Israel Radio's "Another Matter"
program on 17 September 2003 as presented on the website of the radio
station
(http://bet.iba.org.il )

Recently a Palestinian initiative has come up to reach a new cease-fire -
"new hudna" between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Should Israel
agree to it or oppose it?
Agree 42.2% Oppose 52.3% Don't know 5.6%
Vote Likud: Support 29.4% Oppose 67.0% Don't know 3.6%

A dispute has come up on the matter of the "separation fence": Should the
Ariel community be included within the separation fence?

Two days ago the Government of Israel approved the 2004 budget. Is it a:
25.2% "No alternative" budget
67.3% Terrible budget that hurts mostly the weak

At the cabinet meeting deliberating the 2004 budget Minister of Finance
Netanyahu proposed cutting the defense budget and Prime Minister Sharon
decided to cut the allowances. Which position do you support?

Do the Shinui ministers have to resign or remain in the Government in light
of the approval of the budget?

The chairman of the Histadrut, MK Amir Peretz, announced that the Histadrut
plans to declare a general strike in the wake of the cuts in the budget that
