Jerusalem and Bethlehem Concert for Life and Peace

A Concert for Life and Peace

[IMRA: The concert in Jerusalem sold out last week]

In an artistic and colorful effort to promote life and peace, Italian and
Israeli institutions have joined together for this special occasion:

In a unique gesture towards the people of Jerusalem and Bethlehem, in an
effort to promote peace and life, the world renowned conductor, Lorin
Maazel - one the world's greatest artists will be conducting a special
concert played by the Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra, and the
Slovac Philharmonic Choir Bratislava.

Public personas from Italy will be accompanying the Orchestra and Choir as
well as the unique Sabandiertori of Cori and the Fanfara of the Bersaglieri,
joining the critical effort to promote peace and life.

The concert will be held on Wednesday, the 22nd of December 2004, at 20:00,
in the Henry Crown Hall of the Jerusalem Theatre.

The Museum of Italian Jewish Art is hosting the world renowned conductor
Lorin Maazel - who will be conducting a unique concert played by the Arturo
Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Slovac Philharmonic Choir from
Bratislava.

The concert will be held at the Jerusalem Theatre on the 22nd of December
2004, in the presence of the mayor of Jerusalem, Uri Lopolianski, the
Israeli Tourism Minister, Mr Gideon Ezra, the Italian Ambassador to Israel,
Mr. Sandro De Bernardin, representatives of the Vatican, and several more
public figures from Italy who will be arriving for this occasion, to take
part in the special concerts. The concert will be broadcasted live to 40
countries around the world, and are a gesture of peace and life to the
inhabitants of Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

The concerts will be accompanied by several cultural and artistic
performances, including a special performance of the medieval flag throwers
the "Sabandiertori of Cori" and the unique marching band, "Fanfara of the
Bersaglieri". The impressive and colorful performances that represent the
fundamentals of the Italian culture and history will take place before the
public in Jerusalem. On the 21st of December at the "Malcha" Mall in
Jerusalem, on the 22nd of December, outside the Jerusalem Theatre and on the
23rd of December in Bethlehem.

Behind this unique initiative are several governmental offices in Italy, the
Italian Foreign Ministry, the Conference of Historical Cities of the
Mediterranean, Italian local and regional institutions, the Papal Nunciature
of Jerusalem, the Custody of the Holy land, Rino Maenza ceo of Rino Maenza
Productions, the Israeli Tourism Ministry, the Museum of Italian Jewish Art
in Jerusalem, and the Jerusalem Municipality.

On Tuesday, the 21st of December, at 12:00, a press conference will be held
at the Museum of Italian Jewish Art, with Lorin Maazel, the heads of the
Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Slovac Philharmonic Choir
Bratislava. The Sabandiertori of Cori and the Fanfara of the Bersaglieri
will perform at the Museum as well.
