Wanted terrorists in Jericho & Tulkarem can carry weapons if join PA forces

Aaron Lerner Date: 15 May 2005

IMRA asked the IDF Spokesperson's Office if the Palestinian terrorists on
Israel's "wanted list" who are in Jericho and Tulkarem can now carry weapons
once the sign a declaration, join the PA security forces and put on a
uniform.

As a follow up, IMRA asked the IDF Spokesperson's Office if the same would
hold true in the case of a terrorist "with blood on their hands" who escapes
now from an Israeli prison, makes his way to Jericho or Tulkarem and then is
identified as a wanted terrorist located in those cities.

An official defense source replied to IMRA that the Palestinian terrorists
on Israel's "wanted list" who are in Jericho and Tulkarem can now carry
weapons once the sign a declaration, join the PA security forces and put on
a uniform.

As for terrorists who escape from Israeli prisons while serving sentences
for murdering Israelis, the official defense source explained that if they
make it to Jericho or Tulkarem and then are added to the list of wanted
terrorists known to be located in those two cities then they could also
carry weapons once they sign a declaration, join the PA security forces and
put on uniforms.
