Smuggling tunnel dug from Khan-Yunis to Neve-Dkalim by an Islamic Jihad
uncovered

On June 26, 2005, the IDF and ISA uncovered a tunnel dug by an Islamic
Jihad terrorist cell from Khan Yunis. The tunnel leads to the industrial
zone of the community of Neve-Dkalim, and was to be used for smuggling
terrorists and explosive devices for terrorist attacks.

Taufic Bardwil, 22, an Islamic Jihad terrorist from Khan Yunis is
responsible for the digging of the tunnel. Bardwil was arrested at the
Tufah crossing in the beginning of June.

In addition, Bardwil admitted in his investigation that he planned to
cross via the Tufah crossing along with another terrorist, in order to
carry out a suicide bombing attack in Gush -Katif

The above-mentioned Islamic Jihad cell is also responsible for digging
the explosives tunnel uncovered near the community of Ganei-Tal on May
31.
